Major League (1989)
Likely the funniest movie about baseball, Major League is essentially the comedic version of Bull Durham: Veteran catcher Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger) is assigned to reel in young pitcher Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn (Charlie Sheen) as the Cleveland Indians rise from lovable losers to fan-favorites. Sheen, who was also in the prior year's Eight Men Out, offers up one of his most notable career performances, and is joined by a stellar cast (Wesley Snipes, Corbin Bernsen, etc) that gives the entire team antic-filled personality. But it's former player-turned-brodcaster Bob Uecker who sets the tone throughout with his role as fictional Indians announcer Harry Doyle. Forever implementing the line "Just a bit outside" (and many more quotes) into baseball lore.
