While Sergio Garcia was winning his first major championship at the Masters, Donald Trump spent the weekend playing his 15th and 16th rounds of golf as president. Barack Obama, blasted by Trump for playing too often, teed it up 333 times in his eight years in office. Trump is now on pace to nearly match that total in a single term.

In 2014 Trump tweeted, “Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf.” At a campaign rally last year he announced, “I love golf, but if I were in the White House…I’d just want to stay in the White House and work my ass off, make great deals, right?”

His venue on Saturday and Sunday was Trump International Golf Club, 10 minutes from Mar-a-Lago, where he’d met with Chinese president Xi Jinping, ordered an airstrike on Syria, and dispatched four warships toward North Korea. Dressed in his usual white golf shirt and a red, USA-emblazoned baseball cap, he spent about five hours at the course on Sunday. At his current clip he’ll play 303 rounds in four years as president. That’s almost double Obama’s pace but behind that of Dwight Eisenhower, the golf-craziest recent president, who played more than 800 rounds in his two terms.

Eisenhower was a regular at Congressional Country Club, near Washington D.C., while President Trump has played at his courses in Virginia and Florida. The Independent, a U.K. newspaper, reported that Trump’s golf outings have cost taxpayers $24 million. POTUS has yet to play a course he doesn’t own.
