10. Bruce Smith, Buffalo Bills
The longtime Bills defensive end was the anchor of four straight Super Bowl teams in Buffalo. Although he didn’t win a championship in his career, Smith left his mark as one of the toughest players to ever take the field. The 11-time Pro Bowler had double-digit sacks in 13 of his 19 years in the league and he did it despite being the most-targeted player on the Bills defense with double teams, low blocks, and knee shots by opposing players. Smith really knew how to lay out a quarterback—just ask Boomer Esiason about this body-flattening hit when he was on the Jets.
