15. Emmitt Smith, Dallas Cowboys
Most football fans remember Smith for his amazing production, especially when he broke Walter Payton’s record to become the the NFL’s all-time rushing leader. But beyond that, the Cowboys running back refused to let injuries keep him off the field. For example, take his 1993 game against the Boys’ bitter rivals, the New York Giants. Smith separated his shoulder when he was dragged down late in the first half onto the Meadowlands turf—but instead of sitting out, Smith came back and basically beat the Giants with one arm, rushing for nearly 170 yards and adding 10 catches for 61 yards. His best moment: a stiff-arm of Giants star Lawrence Taylor that sent the linebacker crashing to the turf.
