2. Jim Brown, Cleveland Browns
The legendary Cleveland Browns running back was a multi-sport star in college—he dominated the lacrosse field at Syracuse—before becoming one of the most hard-nosed running backs in the NFL. Even though his record for all-time rushing yards has been broken, any running back worth the grass stains on his jersey is inevitably compared to Brown, who used one of the toughest running styles ever (and here’s the proof) to help the Browns take the 1964 championship, win three MVP awards, and make nine Pro Bowls. Brown played through tons of injuries through his career and always gutted it out on the field—he never missed a game in his nine-year career.
