Talk about feats of fitness.
The NFL Scouting Combine brings in hundreds of the best NFL prospects from around the country as they put on displays of fantastic athletic ability, agility, speed, and power. These players will be looking to make make impressions on the scouts, front office executives, and coaches that descend on Indianapolis as they try to make the jump to the professional level.
Apart from position specific drills, the prospects are measured in the the vertical jump, broad jump, 20-yard shuttle, bench press—in number of 225-lb repetitions—60-yard shuttle, three-cone drill, and of course, the vaunted 40-yard dash.
For the top-regarded players, their performance here could mean the difference between being a top 10 pick and sliding into the second or third rounds. For a late-round player, it could be the determination if they get drafted at all.
Millions of dollars are on the line—and every fraction of second lost or the extra repetitions on the bench not completed could cost players in the future. The prospects have worked hard in the gym, on the field, and in the weight room as they prepared to be picked apart by scouts.
Here are 40 of the most shredded players at the NFL combine that will be in the NFL draft this year and the workouts that helped get them there:
