2. Clean your beard
Your beard gets dirty and greasy, and it’s unavoidable. Your skin produces excess sebum, which doesn’t absorb like the oils you’re already applying. And, by being out and about in the world, the hairs accumulate grime and other environmental oddities. So, you need to wash the thing, just like you would scrub your face, body, or hair: Treat the beard like its own body part, with a targeted product. Beard washes like Jack Black’s will wash away all this excess stuff without stripping the hair and skin of their natural moisture. It conditions while it cleans, which is doubly important while taking a hot shower (which can further strip hair and skin of moisture).
