People smell you from across the room.
Subtle is always the better way to go with fragrance. “When you put on a fragrance, you want it to become part of you, not the other way around,” says Matts. “Your nose becomes desensitized to a particular scent over time, but just because you can’t smell it on yourself after two hours doesn’t mean it’s time to apply more.”
If your favorite fragrance is heavier, like a musk, consider changing the formulation you purchase. Instead of eau de parfum, which has a 15-20 percent concentration, go for eau de toilette (5-15 percent concentration) or eau de cologne (2-4 percent concentration) which provide the same smell, but with less intensity.
