New York menswear label Unis is famed for its ultra-flattering Gio pant, a slim-fitting, button-fly chino that’s been so successful for the brand that it has its own spin-offs, including the Gio Skinny and the Emmett short. Now, a new fit has joined the family: The Ford pant features the same top-notch Italian cotton twill and construction details – a button fly, flat front, and on-seam pockets – but it has a higher, JFK-era rise and a roomier, slightly tapered leg.
It’s unsurprising that Unis, a company known for the clean lines of its clothes, has managed to make a fuller chino that doesn’t read as baggy and caters to men who want a little more breathing room or have an athletic build. Any of the three basic Ford color options (vintage khaki, black, and dark olive) will get lots of wear. In fact, these khakis may well displace your Levi’s as your go-to pants.
