A partnership between two brands should be a mutually beneficial dovetail for the parties involved; the best of both worlds, and an impressive combination of form and function when all's said and done. That’s why the new accessories collaboration between Bills Khakis, the Reading, Pennsylvania lifestyle brand of all things cotton and canvas, and Mulholland, which has been hand-sewing fine leather goods in San Francisco for thirty years, stands out.
“We’ve been thinking about working with Mulholland for years, and the timing just became right," says Bill Thomas, founder of Bills Khakis. "We have complementary design tastes, but this collaboration blends our expertise in a way that otherwise wouldn’t happen.”
The first delivery of products from Bills Khakis x Mulholland will be available in specialty stores and online September 1, and includes a duffle bag, messenger bag, and dopp kit. Thomas calls the duffle is his personal favorite, and it might be ours as well – it features a rugged waxed canvas fabric, a quilted twill top that opens wide for easy storage, luxe-rolled leather handles, and plenty of interior and exterior pockets to keep you organized.
But beyond function, the duffle simply looks cool. “A guy could put it over his shoulder in Brooklyn and look right at home, or he could be in Columbia, South Carolina and look good going out to hunt for the weekend.” [$575; billskhakis.com]
