A Sweater for Spies

For more than a decade, an Oregon-based company known covertly as Massif has been producing highly technical, flame-resistant duds for snipers, SWAT teams, and even CIA agents. Last year, it decided to have a go at making clothes for the kind of man whose battles are fought more often in boardrooms than they are in Benghazi. The resulting Massif Collection is a small batch of well-tailored garments in luxe fabrics that manage to be as functional as they are handsome.

From the company’s inaugural line, our pick of the litter is the Brit sweater, a funnel-necked Merino wool button-up that’s cut just lean enough and comes fully outfitted with built-in stretch and water repellency, along with antimicrobial treatments to combat germs and odor. What it doesn’t have: a secret pockets for hiding deadly serums. We can’t all be James Bond, but at least we can dress like him. [$270; massif.com]
