It’s a white shirt, see? No doubt you’ve heard of such things before, but this one’s a bit different. For starters, it’s the only 100 percent cotton shirt we’ve ever owned, right down to the (compressed-cotton) buttons. It’s also the flagship of Levi’s Made & Crafted line, a kind of specialty shop within the legendary jeans company that focuses on simple clothing with extraordinary details. It’s beautifully made stuff. The button-down buttons on the collar, for example, are completely hidden – tucked away in slotted pockets, just as they were on the vintage 1920s shirt from Levi’s archives that served as inspiration for this one. It also features what will likely be the only rounded shirt pocket in your closet (the “function” behind this thinking is simple: It looks cool).
Because it’s a Levi’s shirt, there’s no need to baby it: Iron it up or beat it up, as you wish, and then just launder the hell out of it and do it again. The special weave it has makes it feel like you’ve already done this a few dozen times, and that’s right out of the box.
In our experience, there’s only one drawback to this shirt: Everybody will want to know where you got it. Your call if you want to tell them or not. [$95, levismadeandcrafted.com]
