Designed by a collective of aviators and divers (and the occasional explosives expert), Swiss-made Bell & Ross watches are constructed to bear the unbearable – 100-meter dives, zero-G bombing missions – and look great doing it. The watchmaker’s latest entry, the Vintage BR 126 Sport, channels the company’s legacy of marrying a simple aesthetic with extreme functionality: It’s a clean, midsized piece with just the essential features that adventurers and athletes, but also businessmen, need (and none of the confusing bells and whistles that mar its competitors).
The Sport’s deep-black, anti-reflective dial includes the date and time, plus two accumulators (one at 60 seconds, another at 30 minutes) so you’ll never lose track of a morning 5K or lunchtime meeting. For more extreme undertakings – cave dives, deep-sea exploration – a photoluminescent coating increases legibility in near-blackout conditions.
During the workweek, the Sport’s black bezel and matching calfskin strap will turn heads beneath black and khaki suits. But come the weekend, switch in the polished stainless steel strap for a more relaxed – yet still sophisticated – vibe. [$3,425; swissluxury.com]
