The MA-1, known to most as a bomber jacket, was originally designed by the United States Air Force in the 1950s as a military flight jacket. Although the jacket style has evolved from its original sheepskin leather or nylon outer shell, an elasticized waistband that hugs the hem of the jacket still remains as the most obvious characteristic.
"Nowadays, people can find all kinds of bomber jackets for different tastes," says Hiroyuki Sasaki, founder of Tomorrowland. Depending on what material or fit you choose, a bomber can be both casual and dressed up. "It's a timeless item that people can wear no matter their own style — whether rugged or elegant," Sasaki says. "Casual-wear has evolved — heavily inspired by military clothing and workwear." Now, you know what to do.
