What comes to mind when somebody mentions UGG boots? If it’s a random girl from your alma mater who tucked her sweatpants into the boots and wore them to class every day, it’s time to shift your perception. This is probably news to you, but the California-based company actually makes some pretty sweet shoes for guys, too. In fact, UGG’s latest ad campaign, “For____ For Men,” is targeted at its male audience.
While we’ve always been a fan of MadLibs, we won’t make you struggle to guess what goes in the title’s blank spot. Each month, UGG will fill out the blank with a new theme–For Role Models, For Leaders, For Mentors, etc. Last week, the company launched a “For Gamechangers” theme featuring NFL quarterback and UGG for Men ambassador Tom Brady.
“We know that when men are comfortable, they are confident, and that confidence is what defines the UGG man,” says Nancy Mamann, vice president of marketing for UGG Australia. “The fall campaign opens up this insight and takes a closer look at the kind of men we are talking about, starting with Tom Brady.”
To kick things off, UGG hosted a special press event at NYC hotspot The Lion. Tom Brady wasn’t in attendance, but three other gamechanging men made up for his absence. The guys–John DeLucie, Lawrence Cann, and Edward Song–were singled out as real-life “Men of Character” for being entrepreneurs and role models in their own right. Aside from serving as inspiration for others, the guys also sported UGG’s latest looks.
Just in time for fall, many of the Gamechangers styles are available now on uggaustralia.com, while others will follow in the near future. Prices range from $150 to $295, not including the $425 briefcase that’s also part of the collection.
