We’re living in an age with a dizzying amount of choices when it comes to jeans — color, cut, material, and distress are all factors to consider. And as fast as the fashion pendulum swings these days, who’s to say skinny jeans won’t be replaced by flared boot cuts next year? (Hot tip: They won’t. Eventually, yes. But not yet.)
Right now Spring is putting those choices front and center with what it’s calling a Denim Takeover. The sale features three clothing companies — 7 For All Mankind, DSTLD, Hudson — that have built their reputations by stamping their visions on jeans, those most American of pants that cut across boundaries like nothing else can. Yes, denim is king — and it’s up to 70 percent off right now.
Here are a few of our favorites from Spring’s Denim Takeover. (For what it’s worth, while researching this story we found numerous deals at ShopSpring.com from brands like Levi’s, Frank & Oak, Paige, AG, and more. We’re thinking it might be time to stock up on jeans for fall….)
7 For All Mankind FoolProof Denim Slimmy Slim in Industrial Grey
These aren’t your girlfriend’s jeans anymore. This California-based company, founded in 2000, upped the denim game straight out of the gate thanks to their use of premium materials and innovative tailoring and finishes. Spring has more than 25 different 7 For All Mankind styles on sale right now — plus an extra 20 percent off — in a variety of cuts and colors.
We love the FoolProof Denim Slimmy Slim in Industrial Grey, above. It’s made from stretch Italian denim with a low-key, worn-in look, a slim fit, and rich color. Pick it up for $103 (regular price, $189).
Hudson Jeans Blake Slim Straight Jeans in Bleak
Hudson Jeans, another California-based premium jeans company founded in the early 2000s, has managed to carve out its own niche thanks to its emphasis on lifestyle as much as on the great-looking, well-made jeans they put out. For guys who aren’t into skinny jeans but still want a slim silhouette, Hudson’s Blake Slim Straight Jeans in Bleak are a good choice. They’re soft to the touch and have a good amount of stretch in a rich blue color that isn’t washed out. They’re half off at $105.
DSTLD Skinny Slim Summer Weight 11.75oz Raw Denim Jeans In Indigo
DSTLD, pronounced “distilled,” began as a startup in 2012 called 20Jeans with the intention of providing high-end jeans at a lower price point as a direct-to-consumer e-commerce brand. After a rebrand two years later, the company focused on more creative material choices and a timeless aesthetic, earning them a loyal following.
Some guys aren’t into raw jeans, and that’s cool. But we love the look and slightly stiffer feel of raw and the experience of breaking them in slowly over time, seeing the changes in tone and texture that comes with age. Check out the Skinny Slim Summer Weight 11.75oz Raw Denim Jeans In Indigo with its lighter weight and slight give and deep indigo color. Right now, it’s marked down to $52 (!) from the regular price of $180.
