If you’ve been trying to get ahold of Dwyane Wade, he’s probably a little tied up right now. The NBA All-Star recently announced he’ll be launching his own line of neckwear with The Tie Bar. The collection debuts in November, and he’s been fully involved in the designing process.
Often cited as one of the NBA’s most fashionable players, Wade admits that partnering with the e-tailer was kind of a no-brainer: “I’ve been a [Tie Bar] customer in the past,” he told Crain’s Chicago Business. “I’m in that space right now where I’m designing my own shoes, I’m designing socks. I thought, how cool would it be to design my own ties?” The collaboration, which will be called “The Gentleman by Dwyane Wade,” is sure to be a slam-dunk for the Chicago-based company. The line will include 30 bow ties, 15 neckties, 15 pocket squares, tie bars, and cufflinks, all of which will follow Wade’s signature style.
While neither images nor prices have been released yet, we’re willing to bet the cost of the collection will be more than affordable. Tie Bar’s already known for its low prices–just $15 a piece–so it’s unlikely they’d dramatically increase costs. That’s great news, considering Wade’s neckwear comes out right before the holiday season. What dad, brother, boss, or random guy in your Secret Santa gift exchange doesn’t need a tie?
