Day 24-27: Moisturize and Cleanse Correctly
Day 24: Moisturize
You should have been moisturizing your skin all along (dry skin equals dead cells equals poor growth), but if you’ve started to slack off, this is your wake-up call. Look for moisturizers like John Masters Organics Eucalyptus & Agave 2 in 1 Moisturizer and Aftershave ($28, johnmasters.com). “Eucalyptus helps promote facial hair growth,” says Pirrotta. “Use a moisturizer with eucalyptus as the main ingredient and massage it on your face to grow your beard faster.”
Day 26: Be Judicious With Cleanser
It’s good to wash your face and your beard. But over-washing can be as much an issue as under-cleansing, says Bandholz. “One of biggest mistakes guys make is overdoing it with their beard-washing routine, or using hair products on their beard with the expectation that it works the same way,” he says. “Your scalp has the thickest skin on your entire body, while your facial skin is very delicate. So you can get away with using harsher products on your hair than on your beard.” Products like Bluebeards Original Beard Wash ($14, bluebeardsoriginal.com) are made without silicone and other chemicals that cause build-up and clog pores.
