Safety razor benefit 3: They’re far less expensive than cartridge razors
Shaving is becoming more and more affordable these days thanks to cartridge replenishment programs like Harry’s, Dollar Shave Club, and even Gillette’s On Demand service. But compare those costs—$120 a year or more—against the inexpensive cost of safety razor pack. Amazon sells a 100-blade safety razor pack for less than $20; it’s essentially a two-year supply. West Coast Shaving likewise sells any number of 50- or 100-packs of double-edged razor brands for just as cheap. Plus, most safety blades are double-edged, so you can use both sides of the blade before discarding. With that kind of economic efficiency, it’s not as tempting to use a blade for too long—and that’s why you (probably) won’t experience any dull dragging or ingrown hairs.
