Out on the town
This is where you get a lot of bang for your buck – if you tip outright and up front rather than the usual after-the-fact gratuity. “Why would you hand over one of the most valuable things you own and not tip in advance?” Dublanica asks. “Two dollars is standard; $5 and he’ll know your name and where you parked; slip the guy a twenty, and you’ll get your car before anyone else.”
Not Worth It
Dublanica calls this the world’s least effective tip. “You’re throwing money away,” he says. “You’re not getting anything extra – no phone number, no sex; nothing extra is going to happen.” Of course, on the one-in-a-million chance you’re the exception to this rule, it may cost you your marriage, your job, or your self-respect – or all of these.
