Remove Buildup Several Times A Year
In addition to regular trimmer maintenance, there are certain tasks you should undertake throughout the year. “It’s wise to dip the blades into a small container of charcoal starter and turn it on for 10-20 seconds,” Virgil says. “This will help to remove any buildup of hair and skin that can hinder performance. But remember to oil the blades immediately after to re-lubricate and protect from oxidation.” He recommends doing this two or three times a year.
