When yoga-inspired athletic clothing company Lululemon launched its first full men’s collection of technical apparel in 2014, a new world of athleisure was opened. The brand was mostly known for selling wildly flattering, pricey yoga pants to women. But the introduction of its menswear changed the game. In fact, the company said on an earnings call in spring 2016 that for the past ten quarters, its men’s sales have increased 20 percent on average each quarter. In total, sales jumped an impressive 10 percent.
Now, SoulCycle is joining the conversation. The fitness company and brand offers indoor cycling classes and sells SoulCycle bikes and apparel in stores and online. Since its first collection, it has launched 14 collections of workout clothes annually. But this year there will be a few more. SoulCycle debuted its first exclusive men’s collection on Wednesday, and have the line scheduled to go on sale in stores and online October 12.
The collection includes muscle tanks, hoodies, post-workout joggers, and shorts, all made from materials meant to look good and still perform. The full line consists of a seamless tank, a couple tees, a stretch woven mesh short, a quarter-zip, tech terry hoodie, and tech terry jogging pants.
SoulCycle plans to drop the second and third men’s-specific collections in November and December of this year. For now, take a first look at the new options before you hop on another bike.
