Your Sport: Cycling
Problem: Helmet hair
Solution: Squash your head inside a bike helmet for an hour or three and you’re guaranteed to emerge looking less than suave — no pre-activity grooming aid is going to change that. But you can cheat things a little by using a dry shampoo before your ride. (Check out Clean Dry Shampoo, $10, sephora.com). These shampoos are formulated to absorb extra oils from the scalp — key because your head sweats a lot inside your helmet — and their light holding power means once you remove your brain protector and run your fingers through your wavy locks, it’s more likely to stay where you put it. A quick fix for post-ride lifeless hair: Carry a bottle of volumizing spray in your sack. Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray ($27, bumbleandbumble.com) is infused with sea salt to help add texture and height to your hair. The light hold and matte finish mean everything looks natural.
