Girard-Perregaux Minute Repeater Tourbillon
Long an underrated brand, Girard-Perregaux has finally received the recognition it merits thanks in large part to this masterpiece that took no fewer than 270 hours to assemble. Placing its iconic golden bridge motif into a tourbillon minute repeater is no easy task, but what’s housed inside the 45mm skeletonized dial maximizes optimum sound transmission. The minute repeater produces a clear sound via a slide of a bolt at 8 o’clock, even when on the wrist, while the striking mechanism can be viewed simultaneously with the repeater’s hammers as they strike the wires of the gongs. The fit and finish — from the domed case-band to the slender lugs to the gently inclined bezel — are impressive. This pink gold watch is a limited edition of 10 pieces.
