Tudor North Flag
A big step for this brand, still burgeoning in the U.S., is the introduction of its first manufacture movement in a new North Flag collection. Rest assured, this is not a Rolex movement, nor will prices for the relatively-affordable brother line be elevated. Produced at Tudor’s own HQ facility in Bienne, Switzerland, the 40mm North Flag derives its name and inspiration from the British North Greenland Expedition in the early 1950s, on which members of the expedition team wore circa-1952 Tudor Oyster Prince models. Fast forward to today and the timepiece draws its “techy” look — date display and 70-hour power reserve included — from said early watches. A satin-brushed steel case is highlighted by a bezel featuring matte ceramic on one side and brushed steel on the other, not to mention a 100-meter water resistance. The case back boasts Tudor’s first-ever visible sapphire window.
Price: Starting at $3,550
