“In reality, today’s modern man needs a few go-to bags,” Chris Bray, co-owner of Billykirk, says. Whether you’re heading to the office or beach, the gym, a mountain, or the other side of the world, you need something that’s as durable as you are. “They become badges of honor,” Bray adds. “And walking memories of one’s travels.”

A bag can make or break your look, but it has the same power over a long journey. So if you can only invest in one stellar bag, it’s always best to skip the trends that speak louder than you or your daily uniform. Look for subtle details that draw you in personally, whether it’s by the style, the materials, or the function.
