With the holiday season a fading memory, watch aficionados are gearing up for a year of exciting new launches. First up is the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), one of the two biggest tradeshows in the world of fine timepieces — and arguably the most prestigious. Sixteen of the world’s top haute horlogerie brands (the majority owned by luxury conglomerate Richemont, plus a handful of high-end independent brands) gather in Geneva to show off their 2015 collections, and also to set the trends for the exciting year to come. Several milestones will be celebrated, none of which reign more supreme than the 260th anniversary of Vacheron Constantin, the oldest manufacturer of fine timepieces. With this year’s edition commencing on Monday, a look at what’s in store for your wrist.
