Brian M. Trunzo, owner of Carson Street Clothiers loves the idea of introducing unconventional elements to produce something wholly unexpected, but oddly familiar.
“Enter the sneaker,” Trunzo says. “What better way to bring life to your old fleet of suits?”
Pay homage — think about the suit first. The sneaker should compliment your tailored suit, not overtake it. Gray, navy, and khaki suits look great with white sneakers whereas black suits should be paired with a darker pair.
Go with a classic, clean leather or canvas low profile lace up or slip on. Try to keep the sneaker in pristine condition and keep the color scheme very basic. When uncertain, minimal is always your best bet. [$550 from Gucci; mrporter.com]
