If you haven’t yet heard of Touch of Modern, you’d better get with the times. A members-only online retailer with a curated selection devoted to design, TOMO is one of our favorite destinations for lust-worthy gear and apparel. There are plenty of practical items to look through, like furniture, electronics, kitchenware, and clothes. But there are also esoteric, timeless, and modern items, hard-to-find stuff by up-and-coming designers that you can’t get just anywhere. And it’s all chosen based on aesthetic appeal and efficient function.
So naturally, there are few better places to ogle classic watches than Touch of Modern. And right now, TOMO is having a sale on what it terms ”Phenomenal Timepieces,” and while we’re generally leery of hyperbole, this sale is serious business and the flowery jargon seems appropriate. Yes, the watches are pricey, but these are indeed classics, icons marked down to more than half their going rate.
Take this Franck Muller Conquistador Tourbillon. Undeniably gorgeous, but at $65k, it had better be. Bear in mind, though, that’s about half the asking price of $129,000. For our money, we’d opt for this Girard Perregaux Chrono Hawk Black Ceramic Automatic (below). Pre-owned but unworn, it’s listed at $7,399, marked down from $17,650.
Normally we’d be saying things like “makes a great Father’s Day gift!” right about now. But we’re thinking you’ll want to hold onto these for yourself. The Phenomenal Timepieces sale runs through Friday; view the full collection here.
