Air Jordan II
The Air Jordan II was an exercise in minimalism, combining Italian leather and faux lizard skin for a luxury sneaker that was sleek but ultimately dull. It bravely eliminated Nike’s ever-present Swoosh logo (a choice that would become standard through the rest of the Jordan line), but left a large swatch of empty, noncommittal white in its stead.
Newsworthy: Worn in the ’87 Dunk Contest poster that hung on every kid’s wall for a decade.
