Texas Sports Road Trip
The Longhorns might not be the powerhouse they once were (for now), but nothing really beats football in the Lone Star State, especially when you’ve got close to 100,000 UT fanatics tossing the “Hook ’em Horns” hand sign in the air.
In terms of time of year, nothing beats November to fly into Austin and go on a sports road trip through Texas. You don’t have the big music festival crowds to deal with, you won’t die from the heat, and you could make the drive from Austin to Lockhart for BBQ, then end the night in San Antonio and watch the Spurs. If you time things right, the ride to Dallas to catch the Cowboys or Mavericks is only four hours. And the best part is that you can probably break up the drive by stopping in any small town and seeing how much Friday Night Lights got right when it comes to Texas high school football.Back to top
