Jersey Jim Lookout
Jersey Jim is the only lookout in the Centennial State available to rent, and it sits high at nearly 10,000 feet in the San Juan Mountains. Named after an early rancher with a herd of Jersey cattle, the 55-foot tower lies in the middle of a meadow surrounded by aspens, where cattle still graze today. After fighting vertigo and climbing the 70 steps to the cabin, enjoy the 360-degree windows and wooden outlook deck. Includes: Propane heat and lighting, refrigerator, oven, and double bed are available. No electricity or water ($40 per night).
Location: San Juan National Forest, Colorado
