Condado Vanderbilt Hotel (San Juan, PR)
Originally built in 1919 by Frederick William Vanderbilt, the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel reopened its doors in early December following a $200 million renovation that’s aimed at restoring San Juan’s status as a five-star destination. The beachfront property, which was originally designed by the same firm that built New York’s Grand Central Station, is no stranger to boldfaced guests, having regularly greeted global dignitaries in the past (including Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt). Its latest incarnation will continue its dedication to personalized service, but with the addition of more modern amenities, including a restaurant from renowned chef Juan Jose Cuevas, two pool lounges with butler service, and Puerto Rico’s first Hammam.
