On the shore of Lake Mendota, The Edgewater originally opened its door in the 1940s, and quickly became the go-to accommodation for celebrities who found themselves in the area — everyone from Elvis Presley to Bob Marley. Having just undergone a $100 million restoration and expansion, The Edgewater is ready to become Madison’s hotspot once again. Though its iconic Art Deco exteriors have been preserved, the space inside the property’s two buildings has been totally modernized with the addition of a 90-foot interactive media wall (which displays historic artifacts, of all things), two ballrooms, various indoor and outdoor events spaces, four new restaurants, a state-of-the-art spa, and a one-acre public plaza.
