The Savoy (London, England)
On the bank of the River Thames, The Savoy stands as one of London’s most famous hotels — a reputation it has held for 125 years now thanks to the grand Edwardian and Art Deco styles that define its nearly 270 guest rooms and suites. In 2011, the famed hotel reopened to much fanfare after a three-year head-to-toe renovation that actually took the property back to its heyday with such old-school touches like Murano glass chandeliers and silk wall coverings and a block of “Personality” suites named for the guests that have inhabited them (and designed accordingly). Maria Callas, Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin, Claude Monet, and Katharine Hepburn are all represented.
