Problem: Old-fashioned rental cars
Car rentals have been on the rise since 2009, with revenues of $26 billion in 2014. New car share and rental companies like Uber and Zipcar are using technology to cash in. Silvercar takes Zipcar’s convenience, Uber’s intuitive app, and its own new cloud based platform and combines them in a silver Audi A4.
Log on to the app, make a reservation, and in most locations a driver is on-call to shuttle users to their rental cars. The Audi waiting is always equipped with a hotspot, satellite radio, and GPS. Unlimited mileage is included, and prices are similar to full-sized rentals from competitors, but most other places don’t guarantee you an Audi.Back to top
