The Trump Administration just announced strict new guidelines for travel to Cuba, effectively putting a stop to many of the eased restrictions from the last two years.
Starting today, everything about going just got a little less fun and a lot more tedious. Among the biggest changes: a list of banned businesses, including hotels and shops, that Americans cannot visit and a return to the rule requiring you to have a state-approved guide at all times.
Part of the justification for all of this is making sure American money doesn’t go to state and military controlled businesses, but we suspect the larger impact is likely to dissuade travelers from bothering at all.
