Why go: Zion National Park will celebrate its 100th birthday in November—and even though its colors (those red rocks!) are pretty spectacular year-round, the changing foliage (at its peak in October) makes the scenery even more beautiful. When you visit in September and October, temperatures hover anywhere between 60 and 90 degrees, with clear days and mild nights.
Where to stay: Glamping company Under Canvas—which owns 196 acres bordering the park—keeps their tents up through mid-December, so you can get an outdoor experience in the park as long as possible. They’ll also organize exclusive activities like canyoneering, helicopter tours, mountain biking, and fly-fishing.
