41. Greenville, SC
Get More InfoWhy go: There’s year-round appeal in Greenville’s walkable downtown (complete with a waterfall right in the center of it). But during the summer, you can catch a ball game with Boston Red Sox Class A affiliate, the Greenville Drive, for as little as $7. Or, you can drive to one of the five state parks with plenty of opportunities to hike, bike, and explore more waterfalls.
Where to stay: The six-room Swamp Rabbit Inn is named after the 10-mile Swamp Rabbit Trail, located just two blocks away. It was built on an abandoned stretch of Greenville & Northern Railway track, and links different downtown neighborhoods.
