The Oregon resort is the first choice for many serious players. Golf geeks call it the purest golf destination in the world, as Bandon offers golfers four of the best courses in the country (all ranked inside the Golf Digest's Top 100 Courses in the USA) and not much else. People only really come to Bandon for the monastic golf experience.
But making the pilgrimage is no easy trek; the resort is located on a remote stretch of coastline about four and a half hours from Portland, and nearly three from Eugene. Those willing to make the trip will be rewarded with stunning views and links-style play not easy to find this side of the Atlantic.
Three nights and rounds on all four courses as well as one on the short par-3 course, Bandon Preserve, will run around $1,600 per person if you're willing to double up in a room. The resort also offers tournament services, if you and your buddies want T-shirts or a trophy to fight over.
