A Southern-Style Classic Car Show

Every year under azure Florida skies, an eclectic crowd of racing legends, industry insiders, and Sperry Topsider-wearing locals gather for the Amelia Island Concours. This quintessentially Southern take on high-end vintage car shows offers a dizzying kaleidoscope of humanity – from fabulously clad, mint julep-sipping grand dames to auto business power players – in a celebration of all things car and motorcycle related.

This year will see a broad spectrum of some of the world’s greatest collector cars drawn from a total of seven countries, and a series of star-studded lectures, including a reflection on the Corvette Stingray‘s 50th anniversary hosted by GM design boss Ed Welburn and Peter Brock, who helped pen the original ‘Vette. Other panels cover the first half-century of the Porsche 911, hosted by famed racers Hurley Haywood and Vic Elford, and a discussion of the iconic Ford GT40 race car, led by David Hobbs and Lee Holman, among others.

As much as the Amelia Island Concours is a car geek’s paradise, the event is also adored for its relaxed but elegant mood, endlessly entertaining people watching opportunities, and the definitively Floridian windows into colorful personalities, which just happen to be juxtaposed against evocatively gorgeous cars and bikes.
