Q: Ever since Jay Z and Beyonce visited Cuba, my girlfriend has been wanting to take a trip there. Is visiting Cuba legal for Americans?
A: You don’t have to be rich, famous or have connections in the White House to visit Cuba. But you do need to book your trip with a tour operator who’s been granted a “people-to-people” license by the U.S Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. And you can’t just lounge around and sit on the beach – there has to be an educational or cultural motive for your visit.
