9. Surf a Sea of Sand
Just 30 minutes outside Dubai city center are some of the biggest sand dunes in the country, and local outfitters offer several ways to explore them — by 4×4, quad bike, and hiking. However, the biggest rush you can get on these 500-foot-high rolling hills, is by strapping a “sandboard” to your feet and surfing down them. More forgiving than snow and far more stable than an ocean wave, this is surfing just about anyone can master. And even if you can’t, falling never felt so fun. It probably won’t be long until someone installs a chairlift.
