Sail the Northwest Passage
The Northwest Passage might not be in the Southern Hemisphere, but it feels like winter here year-round (although that’s fast changing). Abercrombie & Kent is one of the only companies offering cruises across the entire Northwest Passage this summer. This little-used sea route shoots up western Greenland before cutting through the Canadian Arctic Archipelago and skimming the northern coast of North America all the way to Nome, Alaska. It’s a journey that gives new meaning to the word remote, with stops at off-the-grid Inuit villages, faraway islands teeming with wildlife, and some of the most extraordinary snowscapes on the planet.
How to get here: Abercrombie & Kent’s tour begins in Montreal on August 20 and ends in Vancouver on September 12, with charter flights to and from the vessel Le Boreal on either end.
