World Wide Nate is probably one of the few who runs from relaxation during a trip to the Bahamas. In fact, he took on one of the most challenging adventures of all —he braved the hordes of hyperactive children at Atlantis’ Aquadventure to take us along on some stomach-dropping water rides.
Afterwards, the beautiful ladies of Speed Week drew him back in (the vintage cars weren’t so bad either). In this video, Nate gives us the opportunity to sit in the passenger seat alongside racing legend Scott Best as he maneuvers obstacles of the Arawak Cay Sprint at speeds of 100 mph. Buckle up!
World Wide Nate fills us in with some background info on his trip:
The final event of this year’s Bahamas Speed Week was the Arawak Cay sprint, a timed 1.5-mile course around Arawak Cay. But first I took a detour to Aquadventure at Atlantis Paradise Island. Aquadventure’s 141-acre waterscape is a non-stop thrill ride consisting of waterslides that tower as high as 60 feet tall.
After my wet and wild adventure, I got to enjoy the vintage cars racing the Arawak Cay Sprint. Then I got to participate in the race myself when I road shotgun with racer Scott Best in his 1964 Ferrari 330 America. Scott exhibited his driving skills as he reached 100 mph while maneuvering the obstacles throughout the course. My heart was beating loudly but I was sure to stay quiet, so I wouldn’t disturb Scott’s concentration during the race (especially since my safety was in his hands!)
