With some of the best views of the city day or night, a Michelin-starred restaurant, le Jules Verne, and even home to the private apartment of the tower’s namesake Gustav Eiffel that’s now open to the public, summertime is undoubtedly when tourist season is in full effect and the crowds are at an all-time high. Rest assured, there are a few tried-and-true ways you can avoid the lines.
Beat the Crowds: Your first option is to hoof it to the top using the stairs. Yes, it’s a bit of a hike, nearly 1,000 steps in all, but you’ll be able to see views from every level and for the most part enjoy them uninterrupted. Another option is to book tickets online in advance of your visit. Yes, you’ll still have to deal with crowds gathering at the entrance, but your spot is guaranteed. The third option is to make reservations at one of the Eiffel Tower’s two venerable restaurants. While a six course tasting menu may run you upwards of $300 a head, diners are afforded a private entrance within the South Pillar of the tower.Back to top
