While 66 feet doesn’t seem very far, all that logic goes out the window when you round the edge of the falls and your stomach drops down with it. Our suggestions:
- Keep your stance wide. Think about maintaining an athletic stance: feet flat, knees bent.
- Talk yourself over the ledge.
- Only allow about 4″ of rope through your brake hand at a time.
- Keep your butt low and close to the waterfall. Standing with your legs straight ups your odds of slipping face-first into the rocks.
- Remember to breathe.
- Take your time.
