8. Take in the red rock wonderland of Arches National Park (Moab, UT)
Don’t forget to bring a great camera: You’ll want to remember the stunning vistas and iconic stone arches like the Delicate Arch (pictured left), which has become the unoffical symbol of the state of Utah. This stop is especially well-suited for road-trippers, because there’s a paved scenic driveway that’ll take you past many of the major viewpoints in the park (in addition to various hiking and biking trails, which will accomplish the same feat with more of a caloric burn.)
If you’re a serious thrill-seeker, you’ll want to visit Skydive Moab. You’ll get unparalleled views of the Moab desert during the 25-minute flight up to altitude (a jaw-dropping two miles) before making the big leap and parachuting back down to earth.
