A large swath of gorgeous Wyoming will go black during the eclipse. But for wildlife lovers who like their luxe comforts just as much as any celestial or animal encounter, there’s no place like Jackson. The Grand Teton National Park’s favorite town falls just south of the center line, well within the path of totality, and will experience two minutes and 15 seconds of darkness starting at 11:34 a.m.
Watch: The outskirts of own will be the most rewarding spot to take it all in. For something wild, book a six-hour special eclipse day rafting trip with Mad River Boat Trips along the Snake River to take in the spectacle.
There’s a waiting list at the user-luxe Amangani, but you can still snag a room
at Hotel Terra Jackson Hole and Teton Mountain Lodge and Spa. Or else bring a tent (and your bear spray) to
camp in the park.
