With a rich, toasty malt flavor and milder hops than most American amber ales, Alaskan Amber is brewed the style of a German alt, or “old,” beer. To Germans this traditional way of brewing means using ale yeast, but aging the beer like a lager. The result is a crisp, easy drinking ale that drinks with lager-like crispness.
